Pupils at Fraserburgh Academy are benefiting from a brand new service helping them to plan their career.
Pupils gave the exciting website ‘My World of Work’ the thumbs up after trying it out with their careers adviser, Ally Allen.
The new interactive service – delivered by Skills Development Scotland – provides information on the jobs market as well as offering help with areas such as tackling tough interview questions.
Careers Adviser, Ally said: “It has been popular with school pupils as it offers personal feedback that they can then share with their friends on Facebook. My World of Work is also a great source of information for parents and it provides a lot of detail on Scotland’s key career sectors and the anticipated areas of growth. They can then use this knowledge to help their children plan their future career.
“My World of Work complements our existing face-to-face and telephone services as these remain important elements of the services we offer for a number of our customers.”
Since it launched in August last year, over 55,000 people have already registered on the all age careers service, My World of Work. It provides a revolutionary method of career planning.
It is a useful and accessible element of the service offered by SDS, helping you to find out what kind of job would suit you and how to get it. You can use interactive features to identify your strengths, create CVs, search for jobs or training opportunities and get tips from constantly changing features about job seeking today.
