Pupils at Fraserburgh Academy have taken part in the school’s first Sports Day in ten years.

The Sports Day took the form of a House-based event, with at least one pupil from each House participating in each sporting activity.

Academy pupils competed for House points, with overall boy and girl champions being crowned for each
year-group.

The school’s Parent Council supported the event by organising stalls, a barbeque and refreshments including teas and coffees.

All the food was donated by members of the community.

During their lunch break, there was also a ‘sponge the teacher’ stand, where pupils could throw wet sponges at members of staff.

In the morning, pupils took part in the javelin, shot-put, discus, long jump, high jump and the 800
metres.

Then, in the afternoon, the young people participated in the 100m, 200m, 400m and relays.

Staff members also got involved by taking part in their own special relay.

The overall champions are as follows:

S1 girls champion – Ailidh Summers;

S1 boys champion – Mantas Cepulis;

S2 girls champion – Fay Holland;

S2 boys champion – Corey Lindsay;

S3 girls champion – Natasha Noble;

S3 boys champion – Logan Reid.
