BANFF and Buchan College’s exciting ‘College 2012’ redevelopment project is progressing well with phases 1 and 2 of the project due for completion in July/August 2011.

This means that those starting in August/September will be the first to experience the new building including:

q Library / Learning Resources Centre

q Refectory

q Large central area with soft seating

q Mezzanine Café area

q Various access points for IT around the building including free wi-fi

The main features of the completed project will include a new styled entrance and a central atrium that leads off to modern classroom clusters (due to be completed by November 2011).

The new-look building will also mean huge changes for students in terms of the facilities that will be available to them. As well as more flexible learning spaces, there will be a new main atrium area featuring a 200 seat refectory.

Above it will be a mezzanine deck offering comfortable social space and a coffee shop for students and staff as well as the Student Association Office. This area will also feature a custom built employability area.
