College rewards outstanding student effort

OUTSTANDING students in the Social Studies department of Banff and Buchan College were recognised at an awards ceremony held in the college recently. Students were awarded for outstanding performance and for having the best improvement throughout the year.

Each of the winning students received a certificate which was presented by Fiona Birse, sector manager for business and the arts.

Ms Birse said: “The students have all worked exceptionally hard throughout the year and we are delighted to be able to recognise their efforts at this awards ceremony.

“I wish all the students the best of luck for taking their studies forward following completion of their course.”

Prizes were awarded as follows:

HND Social Sciences: Best - Jenny Mutch, Jenny-Lee Baker and Amie Wisely; most improved - Dianne Angus.

HNC Social Sciences: Best - Alison McNeil; most improved - Nadejda Millington.

Access to Social Sciences: Best - Brian Cruickshank; most improved - Frances Berry.

English Plus Advanced: Best - Marie Dvorakova; most improved - Patrycja Seroczynska.

Short English: Best - Krystyna Chmylak; most improved - Svetland Akulenko.

English Plus Intermediate: Best - Rasa Kuskiene; most improved - Katarzyna Frankowska.

English Plus Access: Best - Egle Dambauskiene; most improved - Anna Malek.
