The children - who do not have a school uniform of their own - are set to go on an activity camp to Lochinsh Watersports and Skiing centre with a number of other Buchan primary schools and wanted to wear matching clothing.

Class teacher Mike Taylor, dressed in a monkey one piece in preparation for the walk, praised the efforts of his kids.

Mr Taylor said: “Primary 7 have been fundraising to buy hoodies for the trip to Lochinsh.

“They have organised a sponsored walk from Longside to Mintlaw so, as you can see, we’ve all come dressed in our fantastic onesies.

“It’s nice and dry so here’s hoping we get a fine day for it and we hope to raise lots of money too.

“We’re well on target and I’m very proud of them.”

The children are aiming to raise more than £700 to buy enough hoodies for all the class, and have eached raised around £30 so far.

The idea for a sponsored walk came from Callum, one of the pupils, and the rest of the class soon suggested wearing onesies and pajamas.

The kids told the Buchanie: “Mr Taylor didn’t take much convincing.”

A school disco has also been planned and parents have been very support of the project.
