‘Greener Together’ awards

It’s time for community groups across Aberdeenshire to show off their green credentials, with the announcement today that the Scottish Government’s ‘Greener Together’ Awards 2015 are open for nominations.

The Awards, which celebrate and reward communities for environmental action, are now in their third year.

They are part of the national ‘Greener Together’ campaign, which encourages everyone across Aberdeenshire to play their part in making Scotland a greener and more sustainable nation.

Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Environment, Richard Lochhead said:

“It’s that time of year again when we go on the hunt for Scotland’s hard-working organisations and communities who are working towards making Scotland a greener, cleaner place to live.

“Greener groups and initiatives are invited to submit their nominations from today and showcase their green activities. We had many great entries last year and we look forward to seeing what great work is being done in the 2015 tranche of nominations.”

Nominations for the Awards can be submitted online at www.greenerscotland.org from today, 3 February 2015. Alternatively, please email your entry directly to greener@stripecommunications.com.

Projects should also show the positive effects of the project on the community and the local environment.
