Four people have been charged following drugs raids in Peterhead and Fraserburgh,
As part of the intelligence-led Operation Hotspur into the supply of controlled drugs in the north-east, Grampian Police officers executed five drugs search warrants in Peterhead and Fraserburgh on Tuesday, October 2.
Officers from both the CID and the local policing teams carried out the raids, with four people being reported to the Procurator Fiscal for drugs offences.
Referrals were also made to the Community Substance Misuse Service.
The raids were part of a unique collaborative approach to tackling illegal drugs and substance misuse in Aberdeenshire, which brings together Grampian Police and Aberdeenshire Council’s Community Substance Misuse teams.
Detective Constable Kirsten Macfarlane said: “We will continue this two-pronged approach to tackling illegal drugs and the associated issues that come with drug misuse in Aberdeenshire.
“This latest success sends a very clear signal that we will make Aberdeenshire as hostile an environment as possible for those involved in the supply of drugs, while also helping to address the wider impacts on our communities.”
