Fraserburgh will be full of festive cheer this Friday when the Broch switches on its Christmas lights for the holiday period.
The lights will be officially switched-on during the evening of December 2 with a special guest also making his way into the town.
Santa and his sleigh will arrive in the Broch around 6 pm outside the Legion building before making his way down to Broadgate where the Christmas lights and tree will be lit up shortly after.
This year’s event, organised by the Fraserburgh Rotary Club, will also see late night shopping being held on the same night.
Ann Bell, Vice-Chair of the Fraserburgh Rotary Club, said: “It will be a nice family day out and their will be lots of shopping.”
“The Christmas lights will be switched on - and the tree.”
She added: “The Santa sleigh will arrive and make its way down High Street and then park outside Iceland.”
Santa will stay down in the Boradgate until 8 pm that night following the lighting up of the Christmas tree.
The Rotary and other shops, including New Look, will also be putting up stalls which will help fundraise for the club.
Ms Bell said: “New Look will be participating in fundraising for the Rotary with their pop-up shop.
“The Rotary stand will also have soup and sweets for the kids.”
The Christmas lights switch-on is the first in a host of festive fun lined up for the Broch this holiday season with Super Saturday’s holding a Christmas day and the Rotary also adding a few surprises,
