A total of 97 blood donors - including four from Fraserburgh - have been recognised at a ceremony at Aberdeen’s Beach Ballroom.
The dedicated blood donors were presented with their awards by Lord Provost of Aberdeen George Adam and Councillor Jackie Dunbar at the ceremony, which was hosted by the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS).
Four of the blood donors travelled from Fraserburgh to the event. They were Rosemary Stubbs - who has made 50 donations - and Gordon McRobbie, Vera Richardson, Walter Whyte and Rayner Wisely who have made 75 donations each. A fifth donor, Walter Whyte, was unable to attend the event.
Commenting, Deputy Head of Donor Services Manager Lynne Willdigg said: “The Donor Award Ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank all our blood donors for their invaluable contribution to health care in Scotland.
“An amazing 110 awards have been achieved in the last 12 months including five donors from our Fraserburgh community session who will be attending the ceremony.
“This equates to an incredible 11,525 donations between them to date. Many donors will have taken years, perhaps decades, to achieve this, and it is our honour to present them with their awards as a token of our appreciation for their dedication.”
