Golden opportunity for volunteers

Are you interested in learning new skills, maybe even life saving skills? Are you over 15 years of age? Have you ever thought of getting involved with the British Red Cross? No, then read on…

Volunteer Centre Aberdeenshire could help you to get involved with this organisation.

The British Red Cross can equip you with the skills to offer practical, even life saving help wherever it is needed. You would be prepared to cope with emergencies at work and in the home. Volunteers are trained and skilled in advanced first aid and occasionally required to be on hand at major events, such as music concerts, agricultural shows or highland games.

As a first aid volunteer, you could help your community by: providing support at accidents and major incidents, first aid cover at public events like concerts and football games and delivering first aid training courses.

The British Red Cross are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and friendly volunteers to join their first aid teams. No experience is necessary. Full training in first aid and support throughout is given.

Training includes a one day course, with further training being offered. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age and be able to dedicate a minimum of 12 hours per year. Transport to events is provided or mileage rates paid or public transport costs reimbursed.
