Good year for local Macmillan group

FUNDRAISING activites for Macmillan Cancer Support in Fraserburgh has raised in excess of £22,000 throughout 2010, the local committee has revealed.

The charity wish to thank all for their "fantastic" support through a wide range of activities which included a draw for hampers at the Vintage Car Rally in June, the annul Texas Scramble hosted by Inverallochy Golf Club in July, the diamond ball at the Tufted Duck hotel in St Combs, plus a quiz night in the Leisure Centre in October, and the Anagram Quiz which finished on November 30.

The charity wishes to express its thanks to all those families, individuals, groups and businesses who kindly elected to donate the proceeds of their efforts to Macmillan - their sponsorship, generosity and support is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to the winner of the annual Anagram Quiz - Mary Wilson of Catto Drive, Peterhead. Mrs A. Simpson of Maud was second and Joyce Rennie of Fraserburgh came third place.

Charity workers and organisers have said they are "greatly looking forward" to Macmillan's centenary year, with many new activities in the pipeline.

Seasons Greetings and best wishes in the New Year from all at "We are Macmillan. Cancer Support".
