Bethany Joyce Buchan graduated with a BSC in Nutrition from Robert Gordon University this year.

And now the graduate has made the leap into business management with the opening of her own bakery on High Street.

Cakerella Cakery opened on Tuesday morning, with High Street steadily filling with people carrying boxes of treats from the store.

Bethany told the Fraserburgh Herald of her decision to open a bakery: “I’ve always loved baking, it’s in my family. My granddad taught me about baking.

“I baked from home for about two years as a hobby,” she added, during which time she was both studying and working locally.

Speaking on Tuesday morning, Bethany said: “It’s been really busy. People have been saying it’s nice to see a shop opening in the Broch.”

By noon on Tuesday, it was suggested that the bakery had already sold 12 dozen cupcakes.

Cakerella Cakery, which sells a selection of cakes, cupcakes and coffees, is located on High Street, Fraserburgh.
