Fraserburgh Youth Council and Broch Area Youth Bank have expressed thanks to everyone who contributed to their fundraisers over the last few weeks, including the Elizabethan Bar, Fraserburgh Fire Station and all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes.
In total, they have raised £505.02 through a quiz night and car wash.
The money raised is going towards a youth event that will take place on August 11 at the Fraserburgh links from 11am ‘til 4pm, and is looking at tackling youth unemployment.
The groups say that their full focus is now going towards organising this event, and if anyone would like to help out they can come along to their meetings at the Community Centre at 3:30pm on Mondays and Thursdays.
The need for the event was realised when Fraserburgh Academy pupils were asked what they though the mos pressing issues in Fraserburgh were for young people.
Some of the overwhelmingly popular responses the Youth Council received back were the lack of things to do in the town for young people, and the issues of finding employment.
