Responding to the publication of Cancer Waiting Times in Scotland July - September 2014, Richard Baker MSP said: “These figures leave no doubt that the Scottish Government are continuing to let down patients in Grampian with this key cancer waiting time target not being met since December 2013.
“This shows the effect on patients of the problems facing NHS Grampian, at the heart of which is underfunding by the Scottish Government.
“It is simply unacceptable that NHS Grampian continue to be the worst performer in Scotland against the 62 day waiting target. We all know that time is crucial for cancer patients and that is why these figures must improve.
“These figures show changing faces at the top was never going to be the end of our health boards problems. It is abundantly clear that without fair funding for NHS Grampian we will not see the improvements in performance patients are entitled to expect.”
