Although the school summer holidays are over there’s certainly no sign of the activity ending at the ‘Active Hub’.
Over the past six weeks of the holidays the hugely-successful ‘Active’ multi-sports ‘Hub’ has been running at JIC Building Fraserburgh, offering young people aged 12- 16 years free sports and activities.
These have included athletics, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, rugby and even healthy cooking.
Aberdeenshire Council Sports Development Officer, Fraser Govan, commented on the huge success of the programme running in three areas of Aberdeenshire, Fraserburgh, Stonehaven and Inverurie.
He said: “It’s been great to see so many kids getting involved and participating in sport over the summer.
“This project has allowed us to offer a range of free sporting opportunities and we invite 12 – 16 year olds to come along on Friday evenings from 6 – 9pm, August 26 to Christmas and join in the fun and games.
