Fraserburgh and district Councillor Brian Topping revealed at the Community Council meeting on Tuesday that improvements to Westfield School had now been complete, or were in the process of being completed.
Speaking to the community councillors, Councillor Topping said that the fencing around Westfield School had been replaced and that they were in the process of waiting for the design of the new disabled access to the school to come back.
The councillor also revealed that the improvements to the parking situation at Gallowhill Road, with the bus service often unable to reach the bus stop, is in the process of being addressed.
Councillor Topping also acknowledged the work of the Fraserburgh Gala Committee, thanking them and the community for making it happen.
It was also revealed that the no drinking signs proposed by the councillor would be erected in the next 6-8 weeks.
Giving his view on the position of people now caught drinking with the signs in place, he said: “My view is zero tolerance.”
A £500 maximum fine can be issued to anyone caught drinking in a public place, it was noted.
