Lifeboat launched for early morning rescue

Fraserburgh Lifeboat was launched in the early morning hours of Monday, October 1, following the call that a fishing vessel had run into trouble off the coast of Fraserburgh.

The ‘Willie and May Gall’ launched at 7am to mount the rescue effort of the Wick-based fishing vessel, ‘Silver Cloud’.

The propeller of the ‘Silver Cloud’ had become entangled with a fishing net 10 miles North of Fraserburgh.

Proceeding to the scene, the Fraserburgh Lifeboat crew towed the fishing vessel back to Fraserburgh Harbour at around 10:30am.

Conditions for the rescue were said to be reasonable.

The RNLI’s 46 stations in Scotland launched a total of 417 times during the months of June, July and
August.
