The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses is running a series of fun filled activity mornings throughout the summer.
The activities are all based on the Museum’s ‘Under the Sea’ theme. On Tuesday July 5 come and make Watery Wind Chimes, Bottle Fish on Tuesday July 12, Knitted Sea Creatures on July 26 and Birds out of Bottles on August 9.
Director Virginia Mayes-Wright told the Herald: “The Under the Sea project includes Knautical Knitting where we are asking the community to knit a fish for the Museum. We now have over 300 fish and still counting. There is a stunning display in our exhibition room and some of the fish are also caught in a net at the Museum’s front door.”
If you haven’t had enough of making fishy things the activities continue in the October holidays with Scary Skeleton Fish on October 11 and Scary Sea Monsters on October 18.
Charges for the events are £2 per child with accompanying adults visiting free. All children must be accompanied by an adult. For further information please get in touch with The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses on 01346 511022 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
