Staff at Johnston Carmichael’s Fraserburgh office have presented a cheque for £1,900 to local charity Friends of ANCHOR.

A cheque was presented to Friends of Anchor ambassador Tina Gibbons recently following a successful fund-raising dance held in November.

Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s largest firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, raised the proceeds through ticket sales for the event as well as a raffle with prizes kindly donated by staff and other businesses.

Entertainment was provided on the night by Aberdeen-based band Target 5 who were supported by Marc Culley.

Mike Pitman, partner at the firm’s Fraserburgh office said: “Johnston Carmichael is committed to supporting the local community through our charity initiatives, both firm-wide and at each of our local offices. We hope this donation will aid Friends of Anchor with the life-changing work they do throughout the North-east of Scotland.

“We would like to thank everyone who came along to the dance as well as those who kindly donated prizes.”

The ANCHOR unit is an NHS department at ARI which treats patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and benign blood disorders throughout the North-east of Scotland including Orkney and Shetland.
