Appeal for cup information

A Fraserburgh man is appealing for information about a school sports cup.

Robert Strachan is hoping to discover the whereabouts of a the North School cup, which was awarded to his uncles - James, David and John Strachan.

Robert came forward with the photograph after seeing a picture of his uncle, David Strachan (centre), in a recent article in the Fraserburgh Herald.

Robert recalled how David used to swim from the Beacon and back, and that he once cycled to London and back over eight days in 1938. As a child David lived in Jubilee Crescent. He served his time as a baker at Pressley Bakers and played in the Pressley Dance Band.

Robert would like to appeal to the public to find out where the cup is. Anyone with information can contact the Fraserburgh Herald office on 01346 513900 or by email: news@fraserburghherald.com
