A Fraserburgh couple have enjoyed the eventful arrival of a baby boy who was born at the gates of Trump International Golf Links, near Balmedie.

Vicky and Justin Duff welcomed their second child into the world at the unusual location on Monday January 28 at 11.58pm. Ollie Roger Duff was born weighing in at 6lb 13-1/2oz and measuring 50cm.

Vicky and Justin, who live at Gowanhill near Fraserburgh, were on their way to Aberdeen Maternity Hospital when Vicky started to go into labour. Justin then stopped the car the couple were travelling in beside the Bon Accord Granite showroom, near Foveran, to flag down an ambulance.

Ollie was due to be born on February 3. However, on January 28 mum-to-be Vicky went into hospital in Aberdeen to be monitored and was subsequently released.

However, when Vicky and Justin returned home in the evening, Vicky started to go into labour. The couple dropped off their three year old son, Dylan, with his grandmother before making the journey into Aberdeen.

Commenting, dad Justin said: “Vicky was getting contractions every one or two minutes. The ambulance was the only vehicle I saw during the whole journey.

“I stopped the ambulance for Vicky. I jumped back in the car but then the ambulance stopped at the golf course.”

Justin continued: “Mum and baby are doing well.”
