Robertsons, the company responsible for creating Banff and Buchan College’s new campus in Fraserburgh have awarded a Shield to the College’s Best Construction Student of 2011, Christopher George.

Mike Turner, Project Manager from Robertsons said:

“Throughout the Project we have interacted with the College Students and they have had various site visits during the different stages of the works,

“Robertson Construction Northern employs a number of Apprentices every year and we recognise that good work should be rewarded. Therefore it was a good opportunity for us to provide the shield for the Best Student of the Year.”

Curriculum leader for Construction, Kevin Bruce added:

“I am delighted that Robertsons have decided to support the College and recognise the achievements of our students in this way. Christopher is a second year apprentice joiner following SVQ3/PDA in Carpentry and Joinery course. Christopher comes from Portsoy and works for Buckingham Joinery, Hornsward, Cornhill. He is a very hard working student who shows a great interest in the trade and the work he is asked to carry out. He gets on well with the rest of the class, lecturers and other students.”

Christopher George said:

“I am extremely happy on winning the award especially as I know there are a lot of other talented students in the college. My family are very proud of me and when I told my boss he was also very happy.”
