FRASERBURGH man Bruce Masson (38) pleaded guilty to two charges of assault last week and was fined 300.
Masson, of Pitsligo Street, Rosehearty, admitted assaulting two persons on February 20 this year.
Masson, who has five previous convictions for assault, but has not offended in fourteen years, admitted repeatedly punching and kicking his brother and punching and headbutting his nephew.
The defence for Masson alleged that his brother, was "severely provoking" Masson until he "snapped."
The victim was said to have broken the accused's car windscreen and punched the accused whilst he was driving home.
When arriving back to the victim's house the accused had "had enough" and assaulted the complainer. The complainers son also became involved in an effort to stop the assault and was himself assaulted.
The Sheriff recognised the Masson was a completely different character now from when he offended back in 1994 and admonished him on the charge of assaulting his brother, however he told Masson there had been no need to assault his nephew and fiend him 300.
