Charity football for Olivia
A charity football match between the Galleon Girls and the Bellslea Boys, togther with a fun quiz night, has raised more than "£1,856.40 for Olivia Downie.
The match, which was played over 90 minutes at James Ramsay Park, features a team of girls made up of former colleague's of Olivia's mum Lauren and a team of men from the Bellslea Bar who were all dressed in fancy dress.
The game eventually ended at 10 goals a side, with the girls winning on penalties.
Reigning league champions showed that pride was at stake when Rollo opened the scoring but this was cancelled out when McDonald sliced a clearance past McRobb only for Rutter to restore the lead minutes later.
Further goals from Tyson (2) and young Scott for the Galleon and Allan and Milne for Bellslea saw an entertaining first half and all square.
Buchan scored soon after the restart and Allan scored his second, but goals from Crawford and a superb volley from Tyson tied the game.
Young Scott prodded home a second and Stephen increased the lead as the Bellslea felt the effect of Saturday but goals from Falconer and Rollo tied the games once more.
A fourth from Tyson and a solo effort from Jo Milne were cancelled out by McDonald and Falconer, and insured.
The match was decided by penalties, which saw the Galleon Girls prove to be victorious.
Olivia was there on the day and was asked to choose a man of the match. She chose Leanne 'Tyson' Hadden.
The fundraising continued into the evening in the Bellslea with a quiz. Tomos Terrors won the quiz and kindly returned the 100 prize.
Also Linda Carter beating Daz 'Lily' Allan in the arm wrestling.
All the Galleon Girls would like to thanks Aberdeenshire Council for the use of the pavilion, Archie James for being the referee, Peter's ice cream for their services on the day and the RNLI for the use of the barbecue.
They have also expressed their thanks to Janet, Budgie, Sarah and Lara for cooking he barbecue and for all their help throughout the day.
Also a big thanks you to Broch sign shop for the use of the bouncy castle and for free printing of the girls strips.
