Fraserburgh’s Cheers Cafe, Bar and Tavern will represent the Broch next month as staff travel down to Edinburgh to take part in the finals of the Best Bar None awards.
Joining Cheers in the national finals of the awards is Old Blackfriars, Soul Bar, and Number 7.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Sheraton Hotel, Edinburgh, and be hosted by comedian and radio presenter Fred MacAulay.
The Best Bar None scheme is aimed at promoting responsible management and operation of licensed premises in Scotland. It rewards safe and well-managed licensed venues with the issue of a certificate, plaque and the chance to go forward to the national awards ceremony.
Dennis Forsyth, owner of Cheers, said: “It’s great to get that recognition of all the staff’s efforts, particularly the enormous amount of training in the last couple of years.
“We’ve embraced the principles of Best Bar None, whose scheme provides support to create a successfully compliant licensed premises.”
Best Bar None is sponsored by Diageo, Molson Coors and Heineken, and is supported by the Scottish Government and the Scottish Business Crime Centre.
