Local establishment Cheers Cafe, Bar and Tavern receieved a gold Best Bar None award in recognition of their work over the last year to run a safe and responsible drinking establishment at a ceremony in Aberdeen last week.
Gold, silver and accreditation awards were presented to bars across the area in the annual national awards scheme for licensed premises that allows licensees to demonstrate how well their businesses are managed.
Chairman of Aberdeenshire’s Community Safety Executive William Munro said: “Aberdeenshire has been involved with Best Bar None for a number of years now.
“It is wonderful that licensed premises across the region are continuing to demonstrate their dedication in running establishments in such a professional manner.
“The Community Safety Executive is committed to ensuring Aberdeenshire is a safe place for all who come to visit, and Best Bar None is a very effective resource available to us.”
The Provost of Aberdeenshire, Councillor Jill Webster, presented the awards at today’s ceremony.
She said: “The Best Bar None awards are a great opportunity for licensed premises to demonstrate their focus on safety and customer care.
“By signing up to the Best Bar None scheme, proprietors show a willingness to work with the police and licensing staff and keep their business attractive and safe for their customers.
“I would encourage other licensed premises across Aberdeenshire to get involved for the benefit of your business, staff, customers and the wider community.”
The gold award adds to the Fraserburgh bar’s Best Bar None win from last year and their victory in the Sky’s Ultimate Venue competition.
