Couple’s moving gift to ARI

editorial image

St Combs couple, Darren and Rebecca Cruden, who lost their teenage son in 2008, returned to ARI recently to say thank you to the medical team who tried to save him.

Josh Dixon was rushed to A&E on November 1, 2008, suffering from the effects of exposure. Sadly, he died later that same day.

Darren and Rebecca, who were wed on August 18 this year, asked for donations to A&E in lieu of gifts.

Darren said: “The medical team who worked on Josh did everything they could to save him and they’ve often been in our thoughts.

“We knew when we got married that we wanted to donate to a good cause and the A&E department was the natural choice. The generosity of our family and friends was amazing and I know the hospital team will put the money to good use.”
