Digital TV roadshow comes to the Broch
TV viewers in the Buchan area, including Fraserburgh, will have the opportunity to get tips on making the switch to digital television during a series of drop in sessions hosted by Digital UK next week.
The independent organisation leading digital switchover, is holding events across Aberdeenshire to allow viewers to get advice on the various ways they can go digital. Members of the Digital UK team will be available to speak to the public and answer any questions they may have.
The Digital UK drop in clinics in Aberdeenshire will take place on:
Wednesday, February 17 at theBroch Community Centre at 10am-12noon
Wednesday, February 17 at Pitsligo Church, Rosehearty at 6-9pm
Thursday, February 18 at Peterhead Leisure & Community Centre, Balmoor Terrace at 11am-1pm
Friday, February 19 at Lifelong Learning & Leisure Mintlaw Academy at 4pm-6pm
Households in the above wards are most likely to receive their TV signal from the Durris transmitter group, serving the Aberdeenshire area.
Viewers in the area will make the switch to digital from 1 September, 2010.
John MacNeil, assistant national manager in Scotland for Digital UK, said: "We're really looking forward to visiting Aberdeenshire so that we can speak with viewers ahead of the digital switchover this year.
"We want to ensure that people are aware of their switchover date and what their options are for going digital. We'll also be able to highlight the support that's available."
Switchover will make digital terrestrial television (Freeview) available to virtually every home in Scotland – including, for the first time, hundreds of thousands of viewers served by local 'relay' transmitters.
Viewers can find out which transmitter they're likely to be watching, and what their options are for going digital, by entering their postcode at digitaluk.co.uk, or phoning the advice line on 08456 50 50 50.
