Factory Shop support for Home-Start charity

BUCHAN-based voluntary organisation Home-Start North East Aberdeenshire has been chosen by Fraserburgh's Factory Shop as its chosen charity of the year.

Home-Start co-ordinator Helen Miles said: "The store held a Home-Start weekend recently where we were able to promote the work that we do and to raise money for the charity. The staff were all welcoming and the customers were very generous.

"We raised 180 by money collected in the charity tins. The shop held a raffle and collected money on the counter over the two days. The Factory Shop will be fundraising for Home-Start NEA throughout the year and have a few ideas in the pipeline.

"Support like this for our scheme is really important to us as with most voluntary organisations we struggle with funding so any donations through fundraising are very gratefully received."

Home-Start NEA supports families in the Fraserburgh and Peterhead areas which working towards the increased confidence and independence of the family by offering support, friendship and practical assistance in the families own home.

If you would like to know more about the work that Home-Start NEA does or would like more information on becoming a home visiting volunteer or are interested in being on the Board of Trustees please phone Helen Miles Co-ordinator on 518930.
