The family of born again Christian Martyn Stewart (28) who was found dead in a flat on Maiden Street, Peterhead on Sunday 29 November, have issued a statement through Grampian Police.

Martyn's family, said:"Martyn was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be missed greatly.

"We are a close and supportive family who are all shocked by this sudden loss from our lives and the way in which it happened. It hasn't really hit home yet that he's gone.

"Martin was an animal lover and in particular loved dogs.

"We have been heartened by the many messages of sympathy and would like to thank everyone for their thoughts.

"We are sure they will understand now our asking them - and media - to leave us to grieve our sad loss at this difficult time.

"We would also appeal to anyone that has any information about Martyn's death to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or if they wish to remain anonymous to contact Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
