Fraserburgh RBL are North of Scotland champs

PIPERS from Fraserburgh have capped a bumper year.

The Fraserburgh RBL Pipeband are North of Scotland Champion of Champions.

The band have competed in all three North of Scotland branch Competitions, Turriff, Aberdeen and finally on Sunday, 22nd August, at Mintlaw.

"The band have been consistant all season being placed 2nd overall in each one. The drum corps have had an exceptional season winning every competition, which is an amazing achievement," said a spokesman for the band.

At the Mintlaw competition the band were placed:

2nd - Grade 4a MSR; 1st - Grade 4a Drumming; 1st - Best Bass Section; 1st - Marching & Discipline; 3rd - Grade 3 - Medley.

This culminated in the band and the drum corps both lifting the Champion of Champions trophies.

"We also have a new Juvenile Drum Major, Isla Mowatt who competed at Mintlaw for her first time and she picked up 1st place and also shared the Champion of Champions award," she added.
