Gourmet Dinners return to Lighthouse

BANFF and Buchan College is hosting a Gourmet Dinner for The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses on Tuesday 24th March at 6.30 for 7pm.

The ever popular Gourmet Dinners use local produce donated by local producers to test the skill and ingenuity of Banff & Buchan College's catering and hospitality students.

Previous dinners have included a beetroot and chocolate pudding!

Museum Director Virginia Mayes-Wright told the Herald:

"Aberdeenshire produces some of the United Kingdom's best fish, meat and vegetables. These dinners celebrate local producers as well as the people who are training to cook, prepare and serve the finest food to diners across the World. In a world where we are concerned about food miles this event shows us all what exciting recipes we can make with local produce.

"The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses has been running Gourmet Dinners for many years, they are the highlight of the social calendar for many of the Museum's Friends. They are also a good networking event bringing together some of the most important local food and drink producers in the area," she said.

Tickets are 20 a head for a four-course dinner. To book a place please call The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses on 01346 511022.

"We are delighted to be hosting the Gourmet Dinner at Banff & Buchan College," said Museum Director Virginia Mayes-Wright. "Not only does it give the students an opportunity to showcase what the College can offer, but also gives them valuable experience of what it takes to deliver a quality event."
