Planning application made for takeaway

The former Wine Tower bar on High Street may see new life as a takeaway restaurant, the Fraserburgh Herald has discovered.

The building, which was most recently used as the base for Theatre Modo during last year’s Maelstrom event, is currently vacant following a succession of businesses moving in and then out of the High Street
location.

The application was made by Mohammed Kazol of West Bromwich to Aberdeenshire Council in August, 2012, with the applicant seeking operating times of 11am to 4am, seven days a week.

The building, which has previously had a pool and bar area will see the former dance and bar area of the High Street building converted into a kitchen and food area,
respectively.

Seating and waiting areas are also visible in the applicant’s plans.

Aberdeenshire Council’s roads department, who were consulted on the planning proposal, said that they had no further comments to make on the application.

A consultation with environmental health was expected on December 28.

Members of the public have until January 9 to comment on the planning application.
