Readers vote on return of Hogmanay celebrations

Fraserburgh Herald readers have voted convincingly for the return of a town centre Hogmanay celebration.

The event, which has not been part of the Fraserburgh calendar for some time, was regularly seen as the place to be to bring in the new year with family and friends in the Broch.

Indeed, the once popular event has since disappeared from the town.

Readers seemingly believe that sufficient time has passed and that some sort of event should be taking place every year on Broad Street.

With the gala looking to breathe new life into Fraserburgh, perhaps there is no better time than now to move forward with plans to bring back all manner of events, including the Hogmanay celebrations.

We would love to hear from readers about their opinions on the matter, so please get in touch!

Every week, the Fraserburgh Herald asks a question inspired by our readers on our website, with the results published every Thursday in the Fraserburgh and online.

This week, following discussions from all sides of the on-street drinking debate, we are asking the question “is on-street drinking a problem in Fraserburgh?”

Feel free to leave your comments on the poll after you have taken part.
