Rocky's Plaice is a real with local youngsters
More than seventy local children had fun in the last week of the school holidays at Fraserburgh West Parish Church's holiday club.
The club was based on Scripture Union's Rocky's Plaice holiday club material and was named after Jesus' friend Peter ('the Rock'), a key figure in the early church.
Leader of the club Carol Anne Parker was delighted with the way the week went. "We had a great week! We transformed our halls into a fish and chip restaurant and as kids arrived we invited them to take a seat at Rocky's Plaice.
Visited by around sixty children each day, Rocky's Plaice was a fairly noisy (not to mention messy) place to be. We sang, played games, crafted things, prayed, learned how to 'batter' fish with a baseball bat – and managed somehow to devour large quantities of cakes, crisps and chips in between!
The kids seemed to really enjoy being at Rocky's Plaice and I think the leaders did too. It was a great opportunity for us all whether young or young-at-heart to learn more about Jesus' friend Peter – how knowing Jesus transformed his life and how he and his friends started to transform the world."
