SFA mark of quality for Maud

Former Brocher Alan Hale has seen major changes since taking over at junior side Maud, taking on the role of a player/ manager since leaving his first-team place at Fraserburgh.
Recently, Hale saw the club’s work come to fruition with the Scottish Football Association awarding Maud a quality mark for their efforts in their community.
The quality mark is designed to recognise and support the work of clubs with a desire to be the best, providing templates and policies for best practice.
Speaking to the Fraserburgh Herald, Hale said that the achievement was just part of the long-term ambitions of Maud.
“We’re looking to get a structure in place and hoping to introduce youth teams from primary schools to juveniles, providing a pathway into the game.
“It’s a great achievement and fantastic starting point for us,” he added.
Away from the glamour of awards, Hale and his backroom staff have been bolstering their chances for next season by adding to their coaching contingent, introducing player Murray Reid as a first-team coach.
Hale, along with assistant Gary Mann, released a joint statement on Reid. They say: “We are delighted to announce that Murray Reid has agreed to join the management team as player/ first-team coach with immediate effect. We decided that we would like to approach training in a different format than what we have currently and felt it was best that we take on an additional coach and Murray was the outstanding candidate for the role, we spoke to him last week and were delighted when he agreed to come on board. Since the day we arrived Murray has been fantastic to work with and when he picked up his current injury he was encouraged to help with coaching etc. to which he has thrived under, Murray has the same beliefs and aspirations as ourselves and is the perfect fit for the role to which he is Maud through and through.”
Reid said: “I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to join the Management Team at Maud JFC as a player/ first-team coach.
“Having experienced and been involved in both Junior and Highland League football for over 16 years, I think the timing is right to step to the next level of my football career. Hopefully I can still be involved in some capacity in the playing side of things, having just undergone a knee operation which may prove difficult.
“Allan, Gary and Gavin have been very professional since their appointment and have put together a great bunch of lads with an abundance of talent and potential. They have installed a better sense of Team belief and the moral and banter is excellent.
“I am committed to MJFC. It is great club to be a part of and my personal aspirations and ideas are similar to that of current Management Team which I look forward to working with.”
