The cast of Grease get ready for their preview performance to Fraserburgh's P7 pupils.

Pupils from Fraserburgh Academy have wowed audiences with their end-of-term production of hit musical ‘Grease’.

The pupils - from all year-groups - delivered three evening performances of the musical, as well as a special preview showing for Fraserburgh’s P7 pupils.

A cast of around 30 students took to the stage to perform in addition to nine pupils who took on non-performing support roles.

The young performers have been preparing for the show throughout the past year, with teachers Ed Walton and Kelly Pye helping to deliver the production.

Organisers were expecting a full house on each night of the production’s three showings which have been taking place from Tuesday through to Thursday this week.

Commenting, Performing Arts teacher Ed Walton said: “We’re very proud of what has been a year’s planning, three-quarters of a year’s rehearsal and student choreography, with class work contributing to the production as well through films.

“We’re pleased to see the tradition of Fraserburgh Academy school show get better and better.”

English teacher Kelly Pye, who organised the preview matinee performance for P7 pupils, added: “I think it’s great that we’ve got such a dedicated male cast this time from all year groups.”
