Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses after the theft of two one-week old lambs from the Culsch area of New Deer.

The incident happened between around 10.30pm on Saturday, May 3 and 6.15am on Sunday, May 4.

PC Alexander Carle said: “These lambs are being bottle fed and if they don’t receive the correct milk, this could be life threatening for them.”

Owner Alec Allan went out to feed them early on the Sunday morning and noticed they had been taken.

PC Carle added: “They are known to be quite noisy when looking for food and we are appealing to members of the public who may have heard something or seen something suspicious in the area.

“One of the lambs is individually marked and has 55 in blue paint on its left body and a blue dot on its forehead.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the lambs is asked to contact Police Scotland with whatever information they have by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
