Broch Harbour welcomes new committee member

A member of staff from a North-east accountancy firm has joined the Fraserburgh Harbour Board committee.

Michael Murray, who has worked as a client manager with SBP Accountants and Business Advisors in Fraserburgh for a year, started his voluntary rolewith the board earlier this year.

In his position, Mr Murray, 41, will attend committee meetings on a monthly basis to give his input about the future of the harbour.

Along with his role on the harbour board, Mr Murray, who is a qualified ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), helps the local community through a number of other positions. He is the treasurer for Fraserburgh Business Association and chairman of Kessock Park.

Commenting, Mr Murray said: “I was involved with the harbour in my previous employment, so I have always had an interest in it. Work is currently beingcarried out to finish a project to deepen the harbour, and I have joined the board at an interesting time.”

“I feel it is important to help the local community and I enjoy being heavily involved in helping with matters in Fraserburgh.”

SBP managing partner, John Hannah, said: “It is great that Michael can juggle his role at SBP around his voluntary work.

“As SBP has an office in Fraserburgh, it is beneficial that he devotes so much of his spare time to helping with issues that have an impact on thelocal community.”
