Pupils from Lochpots School took part in a beach clean up in Fraserburgh recently.

Children from P6-7M and P6-7D completed the planned beach clean at the shore at Broadsea in the last week of school in December.

The activity was part of the children’s topic work on pollution and conservation.

P6-7M class teacher Heather Milne said the children worked hard to improve this area of the community and, despite the cold weather, enjoyed making a difference to their local area.

See next week’s Fraserburgh Herald for details of a group of P6 and P7 from Lochpots School who have achieved awards for the their commitment to volunteering in the community.

The pupils were presented with Young Aberdeenshire Volunteer Awards for their efforts last week, having taken up a variety of duties both within the school and the wider community this academic year.
