Search on to find a real hero in Fraserburgh

The search is on to find a real hero in Fraserburgh, a teleivision programme to air later this year highlighting local heroes throughout Scotland.

The new series, which will be aired this autumn and will culminate in a star studded awards ceremony later in the year, is appealing for local people to nominate friends, family or local groups who have dedicated their time and effort to helping others.

This year’s campaign will feature two brand new categories, which are now open for nominations - Hero Neighbour of the Year and Hero Animal of the year.

‘RBS – Let’s Find Scotland’s Real Heroes’ will be presented by Carol Smillie, who will play a role in the new series as a member of the judging panel.

Elizabeth Partyka, deputy director of channels at STV, said: “We are looking for remarkable people who have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of those around them. “

Chris Wilson, RBS’s Managing Director of Branch and Private Banking in Scotland, said: “We’ve had a great response for nominations so far, but we want to encourage as many people as possible to nominate someone who deserves recognition for doing amazing things in their communities.

“It’s easy to nominate – you can pick up a form in any one of our RBS branches, or visit the website to find out other ways to nominate.”
