Primary seven pupils from St Andrews Primary School recently remembered the day Victory in Europe was achieved.

Their studies in World War II culminate each year in a celebration with members of the Neuk when there is dancing, songs and an afternoon tea served.

Victory in Europe Day took place on Thursday, May 8, the date marking the end of the Second World War and Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces.

At the time of the surrender, celebrations took place throughout the world.
