Man in court over ATM break-ins

Police Scotland can confirm that a further arrest has been made in connection to attempted break-ins to ATM machines in the North-east of Scotland.

A team of Detectives from Police Scotland travelled to Liverpool last week where a number of warrants were executed at addresses linked to persons believed responsible for the ATM attacks.

Following on from this activity, a 35 year old Liverpudlian male was traced and arrested on Friday, November 15. He was to appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on November 18.

DI Graeme Mackie who is leading the investigation commented “With the invaluable assistance from the local community, Police Scotland have been able to follow positive lines of enquiries and apprehend those responsible. Our recent activity in Liverpool demonstrates Police Scotland’s determination and abilities to tackle organised crime whilst reinforcing our message that those intent in travelling to Scotland to commit crime will not be able to do so undetected”

“This investigation is still ongoing and Police Scotland continue to follow positive lines of enquiries to apprehend others involved in these crimes.”
