Midnight football to kick off in Broch

The SFA and Bank of Scotland run an annual football event for 12-18 year olds, male and female, nationwide which culminates in Regional and National finals.

This year Fraserburgh Academy is one of the venues for a 10 week event which will run on Friday evenings, from 8-10pm, and has been organised by Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning and Development, Grampian Police and Fraserburgh Football Club.

The event starts this Friday (14th January) and registration forms will be available on the night or before from Fraserburgh Academy, Fraserburgh Police Office and Broch Community Centre.

More information is available by contacting Broch Community Centre, Alexandra Terrace, Fraserburgh on 01346 518788.

Bank of Scotland Midnight League is a national network of five-a-side football. Scottish FA coaches run the sessions at local venues usually on Friday and Saturday evenings during the months of January to April with teams competing in weekly leagues.

You can form a team with your friends and turn up at your local venue, or come along and join a team.

There are prizes to be won every week, and your team will get the chance to compete for trophies at regional finals days.

The aim is to get young people off the street and onto the pitch, and last year over 10,000 people played Midnight League football at 70 venues across every local authority in Scotland.

Feel Free to come and give it a try, it’s better than standing around getting cold!
