Members of the public have been offered the chance to have their say on plans for a major new business park in the north-east.
Proposals for a mixed commercial site on land to the north of Balring Road in Mintlaw were presented at the village’s MACBI Centre on Thursday from 2pm to 7.30pm.
The exhibition was hosted by planning consultants Knight Frank and architects Baxter Design on behalf of the developer of the Northwoods Business Park.
The blueprint includes office accommodation, with potential to provide business headquarters, as well as industrial units and yards.
A household waste recycling centre is also part of the proposed scheme.
Gary Purves, senior planner with Knight Frank, said: “As part of the wider masterplan for Mintlaw there is already housing being built by Colaren Homes to the north of the village.
“We have decided to bring forward the proposed business park development due to demand in Mintlaw for commercial premises.
“By investing in the village we believe there is an opportunity to create employment opportunities and to create a vibrant business hub, in line with the growth of the village.”
Last week’s exhibition outlined the plans for the site, which is zoned for business and industrial use.
As well as local residents, a number of Central Buchan councillors also attended the public display.
Commenting during the exhibition, Mr Purves said: “This is the first time anyone has seen the plans.
“We’re here to listen and take on board any issues which are raised.
“In terms of the feedback, we’ve had quite a bit of positive feedback - people are wanting to see more investment and jobs in the area.
“Some people have also raised issues relating to traffic and the impact on the local roads and we’ll go and see what we can do to address these issues.”
