More girls are being given the opportunity to take up football with the launch of a new group at Kessock Park.
Speaking to the Herald, Jackie Buchan said: “With Kessock Park coaches going into schools over the past few terms more and more girls have been given the opportunity to try football.
“Many younger girls have played football at Kessock Park Dribblers from the age of 3 years and have continued to play through our indoor sessions on a Wednesday at Lochpots school for P1-3.
“Now as the first of our dribblers move into primary 4, to allow them to continue with the sport, we are starting a new P4-7 group at Kessock Park.
“These classes will run on a Wednesday from 5pm-6pm and are open to girls who have trained with us at Dribblers, Lochpots or girls who have never played before.
“Girls were introduced to the school team in the Fraserburgh and District School league last term and some of the girls who trained regularly proved to be better than the boys.
“This is an opportunity for any girl who aspires to play in their school team one day to come along and learn to play the game.”
