A Lonmay farmer has utilised an unusual form of advertising for Thursday’s Referendum vote.

Allan Moore was fed up with his ‘No’ signs getting vandalised so opted to use another method of getting his view across.

He sent us this photo of his 900kg stockbull, Diego and said: “As the Scottish independence vote is getting nearer I decided to put up my vote no sign.

“However, within 24 hours it was smashed so I decided to get the big guns out!

“I don’t think anyone would like to mess with him.”

His plan appears to have worked as new advertiser Diego has been happily wandering about his field without any intervention from vandals.

Mr Moore added: “Although Diego lives and works in Scotland, he will unfortunately be unable to go to the polling station himself because he’s under 16!”
