Portsoy library to host open afternoon event

Portsoy residents are being invited to attend an open afternoon this month to find out more about what their library can offer them.

The event will be held at the Salmon Bothy on Saturday, July 14, from 2pm to 4pm.

The afternoon will start with a presentation about Aberdeenshire Council libraries’ most recent innovation, the library app, with those attending having the opportunity to download it to their smartphone and try it out.

There will be information available about some of the other services the library offers, such as the facility to borrow or return items at any branch in Aberdeenshire, downloading ebooks and online requesting or renewing of items.

The event will also give residents a chance to find out about the provision of services for people with particular needs.

Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon and staff are also keen to hear from anyone interested in helping older members of the community get to grips with
ICT.
