Team members of the Prince’s Trust have decorated a music room at a Fraserburgh organisation as part of their community project.
Aberdeen Foyer’s Prince’s Trust Team 4 undertook the redecorating work at the People 1st building in Fraserburgh.
The Prince’s Trust programme, delivered in North Aberdeenshire by Aberdeen Foyer in partnership with Aberdeen College, is a 12-week personal development course for 16 to 25 year olds.
During the course, team members take part in a variety of challenges, activities and projects designed to increase confidence and self-esteem, while at the same time gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
In weeks four to six of the course, team members undertake a project that will benefit their local community.
For their project, Team 4 chose to decorate the music room at People 1st on Cross Street.
In order to raise the necessary funds to carry out the project, Team 4 held a sponsored walk from Fraserburgh to Strichen.
Using the monies raised, the team transformed the room in two weeks by painting small murals around the room as well as the main mural which features musical icons.
Team 4 would like to thank local businesses and everyone else who helped them to complete their community project.
If you know of a community project a future Prince’s Trust team could undertake or to apply for the next team which starts on Monday, May 26, contact team leader John Smyth on 07971813476 or email: email@example.com
