Proposals received to turn Station Hotel into shop

The Station Hotel may be turned into a convenience store, the news follows proposals to transform the former hotel were submitted to Aberdeenshire Council.

The Station Hotel, on High Street, Strichen, has had proposals submitted on behalf of Mr Yogaraja Theebaraj by McAdam Design (Scotland) Ltd that would see two-storey,
semi-detached building converted from a class seven building (hotels and hostels) to a class one shop (convenience store) on the ground floor, with shop storage and accommodation on the first
floor.

Should the proposal be approved, the Station Hotels two front rooms would be converted into sales areas, with a sales counter opposite the existing front door of the property.

The first floor would be separated into an office space, hall, three bedrooms, a living room, store and
bathroom.

Members of the public have until September 24 to comment on the proposals, available to view at Aberdeenshire Council’s website at www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk.
